  • Gibby Classic vs Standard

What are the differences? I can't seem to find any real major differences, despite pickups really. I decided that instead of getting a tele I'm gonna go the distance and get a paul.

Well, the classics have a plain top, whereas the standards have the flame top. The classics all have the thin 60s neck, whereas the standard you can get with either the 50s or the 60s neck. Also, not sure if this is still the case, but the classics used to have 'aged' inlays, but they looked pretty gross sometimes.

Also, i think the wood and workmanship on the standards is GENERALLY (there are of course always exceptions) better. I'd say if you want a paul, go play a ton of every model you can find, till you find 'the one', then buy THAT GUITAR, not one 'just like it', because they are all different. You could just order one off the internet and probably be very happy, but if you take your time and really search for the guitar that grabs you by the cajones, the guitar will last you a lifetime.
