...and love it. NIce wood, nice weight, nice neck...turd electrics....but that will change.

It had zebras in it, but I put in a Gib 500t and a DD hb103N and put in some gibson pots, caps and jack.

Why would I laugh ? I'd rather hear of someone taking a decent foundation w/ POS components and improving it than the alternative ... trashing a classic just because one can.

What do you intend to change ?

I'm not familiar with the model names, but I know a luthier for Hohner, Mike Lipe, and have heard that Hohner's current quality is better than it used to be. They make nice archtops now. Even Washburn's semihollows are exceptionally good.

Cool looking axe bro! All I'd do next would be to get a bone nut, a Gotoh bridge/tailpiece and some tuners (if the originals suck) and you'd be in like Flynn!

                Strange,

about 2 months ago I bought a Hohner L-90 from a car boot sale for £20, it has 2 x P90s and a gold top finish, from the back it looks exactly the same as yours.

Mine had no bridge/tailpeice, a couple of tuners missing, strap buttons missing but for £20 I couldn't leave it there.

It is a nice peice of wood though, for sure, it'll be even better when I sort out the issues and electrics.

Is it cracked around the binding on the edge of the body? Everyone I have ever seen is...mine is too, but its not bad or as bad as most.

Only a couple of small cracks, the guitar has a load of small dings all over though, but for the price i couldn't say no...

                      hrmph

ANYONE who even dares to think about laughing on it will be punished, I will tape his mug into my cab and show what chungatwangowanga a modded Hohner can do on eleven!

Taking a rusty old lo-rate axe and creating a lethal weapon out of it, that is a challenge. Your Hohner is a good base for that.

I still have my really first axe, an L75 that sonically and for feel simpy slays every other bolt-on Les Paul copies. I use it as a pickup testbed or a backup axe but it is reliable and durable as hell. It takes a beating or two and sounds better and better time after time.

nothing really wrong with it, looks fine to me. Just mod the hell out of it, and you got a nice working lp copy.

I don't know it looks pretty nice to me?

Good luck with it and don't sweat the name.

I have been serious misinformed about Hohners...

i got an older hohner, plywood special

had emgs in it, played in rougher bands with it- not worrying about a guitar getting mashed up comes with a feeling of liberation for me heh - i got it for free, and its solid as a rock. gotten sick of the EMGs though, so it's not getting much play *sigh*
