Picked up a Jimmie Vaughn Strat this weekend. Great guitar, really perfect for my style, vintagey, rootsy stuff. Comes with a set of Fender Tex-Mex pickups, highly under-rated units IMO. They're like a more vintage version of Texas Specials, really bright and clear yet they snarl when you dig into it. Uses USA Reissue tuners and bridge, bridge has a steel block. Tone controls are wired to the neck and bridge pickups, middle is wide open. Great notch sounds this way, really strong and clear. The best deal in Fender's lineup right now (if you're looking for a vintage-style Strat)
Aged white accessory kit is on the way for pickup covers and knobs. The only mod I'm considering is the 50s wiring scheme. It's perfect in every other way as is!! A first for me
