  • fender bassman ten amp

i have this old fender bassman ten amp from the seventies i believe a 73 or so its a 4x10 tube combo 50w i liked using it when i was about 14 but it needs work since its been stored for a while the speakers need replacing and the when both 6L6 tubes are in theres this ungodly screeching from it. id like to keep it against my wifes wishes to just get a jcm 800 halfstack or combo but it needs work if i kept it what would be good for it since im into some semi high gain but also like the clean sound it had before it went nuts. i use mostly a big muff and a old boss hm2 pedal. would celestion 10s help out once the amp is worked on to get a crunchier sound than the original speakers as well. help??

I have one too. Though it doesn't do the guitar thing real well. I don't know if you can make it do what you want or not, but it's a cool little bass amp.
