  • Has Anyone Tried the Ash LP Yet?

I'm in love with the new Swamp Ash Studio Les Paul; it looks totally amazing! Has anyone played this guitar yet?

I'm partial to ash over mahagony, which has kept me from getting a Les Paul, until now ...

    Any opions on this guitar?

Typically, ash is brighter sounding than mahagony. Mahogony typically heavier in weight.

I give it 2 thumbs down. It looks like something I could of made in Jr High shop class.

I'd buy it for a good price, used, to see if the ash sound is something I'd like, but I wouldn't pay new prices. Les Pauls are all about mahogany, so you'd just have to view this guitar as an almost-Les Paul. It would probably be a great platform for trying different Duncans, since it'll have a real bold and clear sound.
