Approx cost to have Neck bucker added?

I have a BCRich Gunslinger Reissue. I had it in the pawn shop and got it out a few days ago.. I figured Id try to sell it cuz I got out of the habit of playing it, plus with just the bridge bucker, it isnt as vesatile as I need for a keeper.
But.. the $!%@ thing is addictive.. The neck is almost perfect. Plays fast and comfy and for a fairly inexpensive (b stock due to a mini chip) with a floyd (orig FLoyd) it has a big acoustic tone and nice sustain. Im wondering what I should expect to pay if I had a neck bucker hole routed?

Many people have screwed up a good thing by trying to squeeze a little more out of it. Just my first thought.

True Dat. I thought about that.. But, Ill have to sell it otherwise cuz I have to thin down and I need versatility.

Probably around $40 - 60 for a route alone, where they paint the cavity.

But, you're going to need to add a 3 way switch, so if you can do that yourself, you'll save any additional money. You'll just need to drill a hole, add a 3 way, and connect it all, which is pretty easy.

I like simple electronics like that, with no tone circuit. The pickups sound purer. In many guitars, the Hot Rails neck sounds best there. You could even add a mini switch to split the Hot Rails or both pickups......or a pullup volume pot.

yeah, simple is good. right now I have a Crazy 8 in the bridge. One volume knob. It would be cool to just put a slant mini bucker in like I had in an old charvel many yrs ago.. Cool rails or little 59. And then maybe a mini toggle. I can do wiring and all myself. Just dont have a router.

Everybody needs at least one single humbucker, floyd, shred-stick.
I say leave it as is and play it when ya need it.

I wouldn't stick that kinda money into it , you will never get it out.

Re: Approx cost to have Neck bucker added?

Since I'm interested in buying a guitar with a single bridge pickup, I've been asking around in music shops and to several luthiers how much a neck hole routing costs (in case I felt like the bridge pickup alone wasn't the shizz after all)

I got answers staring at 20 bucks from the "wicked strange messy" luthier to over 300 bucks from the guy who loves himself... apparently it just depends on the guy you're asking, and on how good you are at faking smiles.

Otherwise, instead of routing a hole and MAYBE damaging a guitar that sounds cool, get on the tough search of a guitar that feels the same but has a neck pickup. Or, to say it in other words, become a guitar shop troll ^^.

Not sure if this helped but I hope it kind of did.
