Today is the real V day: NGD!

This is the 'None More Black' Dean 2011 V that I won at last year's Dean Owners Association party. It took a year for me to actually get it (?!?), but it rocks. And it is the only one in the world. The guys at Dean did a great job.
Mahogany neck and body- light too! Ebony fretboard.
Still getting used to the 'balance' of a V. But the gloss black looks pretty evil.
Neck pickup is Dean's Nostalgia:
Magnet Alnico 5
DC Resistance 7.8K
Bridge is Dean's Vinnie Moore Shredhead:

It is a beaut.

But it needs some inlay stickers to go over that logo! ;) It's a pretty gnarly pockmark on an otherwise ultra-slick guitar.

Lol, inlay stickers!

That is awesome man, seriously! You WON that? How much is that worth? That has to be one of the best prizes ever.

They sell for $999.

Great photos of a great guitar. That guitar sounds real nice too.

Not really a big fan of Dean guitars, mainly the headstock.... but that one works very very well. Wouldn't have minded if I had won that one myself! Congrats.

I kinda wondered what ever became of that prize. My favorite color is black, so it works for me.

That's the same electronic layout that came on my SG Diablo. It took awhile to get used to the 3 way in that spot, but I love having the volume close to the bridge pickup, like on a Fender.

Seeing as how you play Steinbergers alot, I bet it messes with you seeing that big ass boat paddle for a headstock.

Deans, especially the real deal USAs, are the poop! I've had a few of the new(er) TCs and they're awesome. I'd love to have the disposeable income that I had a few years back to try one of these in-house builds (used to farm the construction out to US Masters). Their version of the V is just about one of the most comfortable pointies around.

Yeah, its WAY strange for me. The balance on Vs are probably the worst, especially on Deans- the strap button is on the heel of the neck, the other one is on the underside of the top point, which is normal. But let go, it wants to fall forward AND neck dive. I am used to small guitars so it is a lesson for me to step outside my zone- I certainly could never see myself actually buying a V, but I feel very lucky to have this one. And I have to thank Gene for helping the process along, as well as including me in the DOA jam.
