do you have a recording program? Thats one thing you will need. I use Cool Edit Pro and it's a good program for what I need.

The only other gear I use for recording is a mic plugged into the computer.

Once my new band gets some money tho, were going to buy a mixer and some nice mics to make better quality recordings.

about £300, can you just connect your guitar through the line 6 guitarport and then get some recording software

well for $300 american you can get this 8 track digital tascam recorder which my band uses and works VERY well. That would translate to be under 300 pounds. Also the benefit is you could bring this with you where ever.

I use my guitar into my V-amp2, then into the computers soundcard.
Then it records straight onto what ever program I am using.
Hear it through your computers speakers (I have alright 150 dollar 'creative inspire 4.1' speakers).

            Sounds good.
BTW- My soundcard is a cheap 50 dollar number.
