That's a pretty decent asking price of $600. I'd like to know what kind of tubes it will ship with. I sold my Univalve a year ago and included several NOS treasures. The variety of tubes is what makes that amp so interesting/flexible.
    (2) Randall RM4 preamps, VHT 2502 Power amp, 2 2x12 Bogner cabs w/V30's and Lead 80's, '74 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop, '89 Gibson Les Paul Cherryburst, '93 Stratocaster, and a bunch of other stuff.

Yeah, the tube switching w/o having to rebias is very nice. Let's you play around with lots of combos.

      BTW, the ad says a Svet EL34 & 2 JJ 12AX7s

Duh. I guess I should have read the whole thing!

My Uni sounded best with NOS Mullard EL34 and NOS Telefunken 12ax7's. I also dug the Telefunken EL84 power tube with RCA 12ax7's. Man, I'm starting to miss that amp. Hmmmm.... GAS kicking in again.... only $600? Hmmmm... me thinks.... OK, coming to my senses again. I must plan for my kids college fund.... OK, but not today.

Damn, I sold mine for $450 with new tubes (but I did trade it towards a cheap Gibson I sold for a profit!)! It's a great amp, IMO.

Yeah, I think it's a pretty cool amp. A little on the pricey side if you use it just to play around with tube combos, but what the hell...you can get any tone you want out of it.

If anyone can swing the price, it is a nice amp!

Puckboy. What tube combo do you use the most? Also, is there a way to slave that amp, along with it's power tube tone, out to another amp's FX return, or a power amp?

Yes! All current THD amps have an auto-load feature (pull the speaker cord and all you lose is the sound! ) and direct outs.

                  YUP !

As far as the tube combos, so far my favorite is the Sovtek EL34 w/2 Mesa Boogie 12AX7s...mean rockin' tone. I just ordered some JJ Tesla EL84/EL34/12AX7s....I have an older JJ EL84 running thru a YellowJacket (convert EL84 to a EL34 @ a lower power level) that I was playing thru yesterday. Semi smooth cleans/gritty dirty.....the JJ Tesla 12AX7s might smooth it out all around. I also wanna try them w/the Svets I got from you (Gearjoneser).

All in all, still trying to get the combo I'm looking for. I'll get back to ya' shortly on that though....just scored a Marshall 2x12 that I should get next week. Might add a little to what's going on.
