  • Marshall Modulator??

Anyone know anything about these?? I heard Joe Walsh used one on Funk #49... which is a real cool tune, and i really dig his tone. Anyone know what these things do?? There aren't any on ebay...

    Re: Marshall Modulator??

A guitarist that shares my rehearsal space has one in his rig, along with the
JMP-1 and Marshall 100/100 power amp. Nice rack setup! He seems to really like it, and it'll obviously mate well with the JMP-1 and any other guitar preamp. Sometimes, rack FX units are more suited to studio use, but units like this Marshall, TC G Major, and Intellifex's are dialed in to really suit a guitarist's needs. If you found one at a good price, I can't imagine you'd be disappointed with it. The pots and jacks seem to be a little sensitive on these units, so don't buy an abused one.

So, its a rack unit?? Thats interesting. Does that mean you have to use it with a separate preamp and poweramp?? I was thinking it was some sort of pedal...

and what does it do?? I don't really know anything about it...

Very cool! I remember years ago speaking with a recording enginner in (at that time the only pro studio where I lived at the time), I asked what the best flange he ever heard came from ... He said it was from a Marshall Time Modulator ... I said Marshall? He said no, not that Marshall ... then he told me about it ...I had forgotten they even existed until now ... cool!
