i used to go to Paul Unkert of UNK guitars when i lived in that area, he worked for kramer and a couple other companies, made a lot of those guitars that have the tuning fork looking headstocks, may even be his design, not sure. He's in Toms River, idk where exactly you are in Joizey. There's also John at Hy-way music in East Brunswick.

I forgot about highway. Ive used him before but its a pain to keep on top of him since he tends to be forgetful, lol.

Ernie Trionfo was highly recommended to be by a friend. He runs Ernie's Guitar repair in Minotola NJ. Keep in mind I a only had him do a basic setup, but he is a super nice guy and seems to be good at what he does. Also Larry Kulp in woodstown runs a cool little shop, I take lessons there, but I only had him put some pickups in my strat and set it up. My guitar teacher Craig does tube amp repair. It depends on what part of Jersey you live and I can't comment on the quality of any major work they are capable of, but both seem to be knowledgable and good at what they do.

Haha I was gonna say that, I usually tell him I have a gig on Friday, and need it done. In some cases I've waited there till he gets it done. On the other hand he had a friends guitar for like a year and a half.

I've had good luck with Jack's guitars in Sicklerville.

He's a retired guy that runs a business out of his basement. He sells some really really nice used amp's and guitars and does repair/setup work. All the guitars he sells are set up by him ahead of time and the 2 that I bought were both spot on. I can't speak for the repair work though. I can tell you he prices on setups and the used gear he sells are generally really good.

His number is 484-410-8920, If you call or go just be prepared to spend a little time because he likes to talk and he always asks me to play and checkout his latest and greatest guitar/vintage amp find.
Epi G-400 with burstbuckers, Epiphone Wilshire Pro, Danelectro U2, Peavey Fury IV, Egnater Rebel 30, Various Vintage Speakers and Cabs.
              Some acoustics and random stuff.

No Jack Madden lol what?!?! … let me tell you about jack. Jack is an unstable lunatic , he never shuts up , stands too close to you and spits all over your face when he talks, he’s brash , inconsiderate and he’s not good at working on acoustic guitars. Some things he takes seriously , some he doesn’t. He’s overpriced. And cheap. He’s been accused of swapping pickups and quality pots out for cheap ones to guys who don’t know the difference. He’s hard to reach , because most of the day he’s sleeping . He won’t meet you , his wife rules his life which interferes with his business , he has loaded guns and swords all over the basement. He’s hyperactive and not all there . Plus he does this all on the sly, doesn’t pay taxes and a lot of money goes through his hands. He’s NOT an actual legitimate business and not a good businessman , and he’s a lousy tech . I don’t deal with him. And I wouldn’t if I were you . Guy must be on a lot of Meds . Stay away.

He may have found the right person after 8 years.
