Epoxy potted passives. I'm not sure if they are stacks or mini-humbuckers? Their selling point was that they were supposed to have a flat EQ and be tonally transparent. They were designed by Bill Lawrence and built for a short time in West Germany.

I got the jack today and got tired of waiting for my control plate from China. It's been a month since I ordered it so I stole one from another guitar until it arrives. Action and intonation have been set and the only obvious error I made was with wiring the jack. I replaced the nut and I'm surprised it's only a tiny bit sharp at the first fret on the top two strings. Although I carefully sanded and measured the two nuts with digital calipers so they had identical profiles just different depth slots. So I can glue the nut in and then tweak top two string slots when my nut files arrive. These Ultrasonic pickups are hot, balanced, and resonant sounding. The bridge coil reads 18k, out of phase position is 8K, neck coil is 11.5K, and the two in series read around 27K.

I added another layer of brown dye and it helped make the grain stand out a bit better and turn it more dark amber. I also sprayed two layers of shellac to lock in the colors. I need to even out the shellac though. *edit for a better picture

My Telecaster project. The neck came from a Squire Telecaster Deluxe II that some idiot had painted with stove black to show off his punker than thou attitude. I stripped it, bleached it and dyed it straw color. I mixed Rockler's brown and yellow tints in denatured alcohol to get an aged look. I still have to buff the frets. The body is a Poplar Guitarfetish body. It wouldn't take oil based stains at all and looked horrible so I stripped it, bleached it and then dyed it using Rockler orange and yellow tints in denatured alcohol. It's almost dayglow orange its so bright so I will sand it back a bit and try to incorporate more brown tint into the mix to get it to look more dark amber in color. I also might put a little copper metallic tint in the topcoat. I also have a humbucker bridge on order that I'm going to mod so I can use two Ultrasonic ref series pickups with a 4-way tele switch.

I decided I liked CAT yellow so much I redone one of my sg's

I also have two upcoming builds.

I printed out a fullsize .pdf template of a rhodes v, but going to match the right hand side as the left. It's going to be a bit longer and broader than a king v. I also made a 67 pick guard template for it. I got the idea from the Scott Ian king V idea. In red stain, spanish cedar body.

Another sg with some tweaks, and going to try for a natural finish with a black burst. Also spanish cedar body..
