Hi!!! Im going for a 7 string guitar! I've made a lot of research and those are my 2 options.
The new Ibanez Uv70p (Made in Indonesia) or a 2nd hand Ibanez RG 7620 (Made in Japan, year:1999). The used Rg 7620 i could buy, comes with Dimarzio Blaze pickups. (the same that de Universe).
What do you think??
Thanx!!!

7620 is better... The necks are huge and wide though... just depends on your hands...

I wouldnt use the Blaze pickups as paperweights... much better 7 string pickups around than that rubbish.

Oh ok! Thanx for your answers!!! :)
Is there another good option besides a 2nd hand rg7620?
(BTW: I'm from South America, so probably the only ones I could buy here are: Ibanez, Schecter, Dean and Jackson. I haven't seen other than that here, so plz consider that, thanx again!!)

Do you need a floyd or are hardtails cool for you?

The 7620 is a good option though

Is the Ibanez RGD2127z a good option also? (its more expensive than the RG7620, i know... but i'm just wondering)

Blazes are absolutely good for the job they were designed for. Surely they are too bassy for most modern amps. I can do most tones I like with them. I can say the pups and fretwork were among the things that got me keep on working to bring my uv70p from death to life, and then str8 to perfection.

Niko, if they have a return policy, get the uv70p and take it str8 to your tech to evaluate. If it needs a lot of work that exceeds the difference with the prestige, then get your money back and get the used prestige. If not stick with the uv70p. If there is an option, go with your tech to the shop and evaluate it on the spot.
Most premiums sound fantastic, and if they are problem free the better! Woods, pups are superb. Edge Zero II-7/hardware is also good. (but not on par with edge zero 7 they say)

Also take into account that the prestige being some 10 years old might need fretwork, and also needs very careful overall assessment. Not in few cases people with prestiges have complained about twisted necks, fretwork, among other problems. Just because its a prestige it does not mean it will play like butter, and just because the other is premium it does not mean it will play like garbage. If you want my frank opinion, same woods and pups will produce identical tones.

This has limited tonal options, no tone pot. The RG7620 is the classic H-H 1V 1T, while the uv70p is H-S-H, you can still play pink floyd and dire straights with this one. You gotta play them/try them all.

Hi guys. I have no luck yet finding a 7 string guitar. I couldn't buy the used rg7620, and I'm not sure about going for the Uv70p.
I've been looking at other guitars, wanted to have more options. What do you think about the Schecter Blackjack ATX C-7 or the Jeff Loomis signature? Or should I go whith the Ibby after all? (although I'm not sure what Ibby should be yet... :(

Just go and play the uv70p. If you like strats/superstrats you'll find this great. I had tried a hellraiser C-7FR and it was a quality guitar. It had some problems that prevented me from buying it, plus its price was on the higher side.

Oh damn, I did something wrong. I've tried an Ibanez RG2627Z and... man, It was awesome!! I really liked it. It's really expensive, thats why I said "I did something wrong". But really really liked it a lot.
What do you think about this guitar? Is it worth it?? (Cuz maybe for less, I could buy some other good thing, like the rdg2127) I don't know, what do you think guys?
