Re: NGD - And my first ever LP

I played an Epi Tribute with the 57 set and they sounded awesome to me

I would probably lower the neck a bit to see if it got better

Other than that I probably would've just slid covers on the 57s and been done
Not even take out the pickups
Just push the cover on and put the strings back on

    But it's yours
Let me know if you want to move one from the 57s

Re: NGD - And my first ever LP

I had a Traditional Pro 8 years ago (or so) and I never could find a set of pups I really liked in it. Damn shame, too, because it was also a nice plain top like yours.

Nice Score!! Congrats!!!! I have a Trad Pro and love it.. Tone and feel in spades.. I did have to try a few to find one with real mojo..

Always heard great things about wolfetones, but never tried em. Wouldnt know what ones to try if I did give em a whirl.
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Beautiful guitar! The plain top is absolutely gorgeous! The two pieces are beautifully
matched and the pool in upper half is uber-cool. Love the burst. Nice axe indeed.
                Enjoy!

                Peace,

Nice! Great looking plaintop and I like the burst.
Good choice on the Wolfetones, too - you won't be sorry.

That's a real nice looking LP and I really like the top without the flame. It looks more natural.

That's a sweet looking LP. Plain tops are my preference. Rock that thing!

Sweet guitar, congrats on your first Gibson (hopefully not last)

I remember having the same experience with the Classic 57 in neck and Classic 57 Plus in bridge of my 2017 LP Classic Goldtop.
They kinda sounded good - much better than burstbuckers , but way too woofy with a very weird and loose bass spike. Replaced them with a pair of Duncan 59 Blues Set, and it sings like a bird.

Luckily the 57 Classic are expensive and easy to sell second hand. They almost funded a brand new Seymour Ducan 59 set.

Would be nice to see a photo with the new humbuckers installed. Raw nickel covers are always a good choise.

That's exactly the way I'd describe them too.The Plus in the bridge is decent, good cut and overall tone. Even playing with the heights the neck is way too woofy, no definition. It's like someone threw a blanket over the amp.

I'll post as soon as I do, just needing the time to get round to it but I'm hoping it'll look class.
