Time to give the 1972 Fender Telecaster Custom back to my friend Tim Quinn (#sadface).
Back story: he's had this guitar since the early 80s - either bequeathed or given to him, by the lead guitarist of his then band, so a player's instrument, rather than an in-case vintage collector's piece.
Got to say, this has all the vibe of a vintage instrument, and there's definitely mojo in there. Tim asked me to make it playable - I would say success has been achieved! - I'm hoping he has many, many days enjoying the guitar
I didn't get chance to play it on any of my ongoing recordings, so here's a loop and some different textures.
Song: She Says She's from my last record, Turquoise Cyan Sapphire available at vincenttuckwood.bandcamp.com
Tech stuff:
Drive train is the original Fender Wide-range Humbucker in the neck, and a Seymour Duncan Vintage for Broadcaster in bridge.
7.6(?) inch radius neck - medium C-carve.
Bridge saddles are replacement Fender OEM, compensated for tighter intonation.
Strings: 11-49 D'Addario.
Pedals:
TC Electronic Polytune Mini (used a couple of times mid-stream!)
Analogman Sunface NKT Fuzz
BYOC Silver Pony
Xotic BB Preamp Mid-Boost
Budda Verbmaster 18W preamp (High-input)
(loop send)
T-Rex Nova Compressor
Xotic EP Booster
Strymon El Capistan
Strymon Flint Reverb
Strymon Flint Harmonic Tremolo
(loop return)
Budda Verbmaster 18W power amp
