Hey, that Godin is my guitar! Although mine came stock with OEM Jaz in the neck, and 59 in the bridge. I dig the Gibson, too, and would have considered it if it were available when I got mine like 8 months ago. But Gibson's lower priced semi hollows have never excited me, and their $$$ ones are hit-and-miss. I had a Howard Roberts (sort of a large semi hollow LP) for years, but man, it was bland.

looks like somebody at Gibson is beginning to see the light...that looks like a fine guitar at a competitive price...

They discontinued that color and the red one as well (and I think their was a natural too). They just have the Sunburst now. There are a few new variants now in different finishes but I'm glad I got my black one when it was still available.

That is a beautiful guitar! I would take that or the OP Gibson in a heartbeat.

I think satin is ok and I guess if you really want it you could buff it to get some gloss.

                  What do you think?
I think it needs a pinup sticker.

The Gibson Custom Shop can put one for you for $3,000 extra.

Give us the same basic price point, but make it an ES-135 with true P90's, and I would already have one, and already would have prepped it for an Arctic White Re-Ranch overpaint.

That's a great price if the quality is there.

I have *****ed and moaned about the quality of Gibson for years. Their incomplete fret work and nut work were particular points of aggravation for me. But I went into Guitar Center yesterday to kill some time, for the first time in about a year. I have to say that the work in these areas looked notably better, over all, and prices seem to have notched down a bit. Heading in the right direction, I must say. Let's hope the train keeps heading that way.
