  • Help I.D. a super strat body

Anyone have any better idea of what exactly this might be? Looks charvel-ish to me. But I could be wrong.

Not a Kramer, wrong control cavity shape.
That control cavity looks Charvel, but the little **** where you screw the cover on look more like KNE Guitars to me, but... they didn't use ink stamps in the neck pocket...
That truss rod notch was added after the fact.

I take it by your name you like the band metal church. I think they are so under rated.

Love their first two albums, but aside from that I can't stand them.

I'm betting this is an aftermarket body of some sort, and if not it's definitely 1987-up because of the recessed trem. Looks like Alder from what I can see in the neck pocket.

Too recent to be such a wreck, no?

Also this has pickup rings and no blade switch cut

Pretty sure that 'relic' job was done with a belt sander; the wear just looks fake. Regarding the rings, Pro-Mods starting using pickup rings when production moved from Japan to Mexico. You're right about the controls though; a Pro-Mod would either have a toggle switch with no tone knob, or volume and tone with a blade switch.

ESP KH with the body rounded to resemble a Strat.

                            Nope

                            1) Majority of em are neckthrus
                            2) ESP boltons use asymmetrical neckplates with shaved heels
                            3) control cavity shape doesn't exactly scream ESP
                            4) 3 pots and a blade standard

The more research I do the more I'm leaning to this being an aftermarket body.
