  • Rust - Boat Cancer.

The bridge studs on the old Samick I bought recently are pretty filthy, but one in particular has rusted to the point of going black.

Now I'm afraid it'll never go back. (joke)

Should I try to derust them all, or would I be better off replacing them entirely, and if so, should I replace the bridge as well?

If they've rusted once, they will again -as the core metal portion where the iron ratio is higher that can oxidize has been exposed when it should be protected and coated with a Chrome or tinning etc...

    I would replace personally.

Replace them. They aren't going to break the bank. And your bridge will function better.

But, how about the bridge itself? Is it rusted too? If so, just replace the entire bridge and studs.
