The chambering gives them a really great tone, but most importantly (at least to my aging, aching back), most of them weigh right at 6.0 pounds. The heaviest is right at 6 lb 3 oz. That beats my 11-12 lb Les Paul all to heck. Although I also really love the tone of that one too.

I just realized I didn't include pics of the backs.

They look amazingly awesome! Those look like they have great upper fret access. The fret boards on both are very stunning...great stuff and I can't wait to see the finished products.

Thanks for the comments guys. Well, I'm still reaching for the bar. I'm totally not close to Peter Crossley standards yet.

The fretboards have easy access to the last fret (23 on the purpleheart guitar).

Doc; What kind of glue are you using to glue the two body halves together?

Titebond. I use it for all the wood-to-wood joints, including fretboard to neck. I use StewMac binding cement for the binding-to-body joint and pure acetone to "glue" the thin accent binding strips to the main binding strip.

Really interesting designs and lovely wood!
I also really like a mostly hollow chambered guitar.

If you're like me, that "notebook" better be made of paper. If I add info to my greymatter notebook it doesn't last long.
