  • Strat copyright?

I was admiring my Strat last night & I must say Mr. Fender got it perfect right from the get-go. What a beautiful looking guitar with the curves, pickguard, controls, headstock, burst colours etc. Not to mention the tone!

I was wondering though, there's alot of other guitar manufacturers that use the exact same Strat design for their guitars (maybe just the headstock is a little different) & I wonder if they have to pay any type of royalties to Fender?

Fender is as we speak in the process of trademarking the design IIRC

Then the WILL have to pay royalties, or stop building knockoffs

he made it right with the strat(and cbs ****ed it up) but, about fender knockoffs, yea theres a alot crap out there(GandL etc.) but the pearlcaster should always be allowed to be made just because it so much better. Fender shouldnt make a copyright.

g and l is crap compared to fender oringinal strats, horrible construction(swiming pool route). GandL when acossiated with Hellcaster were creating great guitars, Hellcaster left;then joined with fender and invented things like the showmaster and started building better guitar, then GandL ended up making guitars like fender did from 1992-1998, and GandL has been **** sence then.

Even with a swimming pool route (which I also disapprove of), G&L's are far superior to the modern Fenders. By the way, the Hellcaster's are back with G&L now, because they hated the trash guitars Fender was making for them.
