Well, I just retubed my Mesa Mark IV only to turn it on and hear the dreaded
"woosh/crackle/woosh." I hopelessly prodded the tubes with a ballpoint pin in a futile attempt to diagnose the situation.
Finally, I tapped V1, and it went away! Anyone ever have a problem like this. As for me, I need a smoke after playin' this thang.
