A/B push pull pots?

This auction classifys the pots as B pots, but I've never heard of pots being assigned letters, is this something that this guy's just randomly done, some company's randomly done, or is this an actual classification of push/pull pots?

its probably part of the item #, i bought some push pulls that said "500KA and 500KB" i think it represents audio taper or linear pots.. but i'm not sure...
