  • My Samick Viper (pics)

    Hi,

to continue recent discussions about Samick guitars: here are pics of my quite rare model: KR564GPSK Viper

The most exceptional detail on this baby is, that the theme is not just painted, but is a relief (in contrast to that cheap copy of ESP).

After having the frets repaired by a guitar builder I changed the electric:
    - JeffBeck in bridge
    VintageFlat in middle
    HotRails in neck position
    - 1 master volume and master tone
    - 1 push/pull poti to split both humbucker
    - 1 push/pull poti to bypass both potentiometer (Love it or hate it!!! - i do both)
    - Eyb Megaswitch E for strat wiring with neck/bridge in pos. 3

Folks I tell you: this axe sounds sooo cool - especially the split sounds really surprised me: better than real single coils of other vendors.
Depending on my mood I use it for all styles of music: Rock, Country, Jazz (yeah, playing Swing in a BigBand with the Skull), ...

    Your comments appreciated

    Cheers! Chris

PS: Can one of you remember the price of it?
Fender Strat Elite, Epiphone Emporer Regent, Framus Renegade Pro (4x SD Pickups!!!), modded Samick Skull&Snake
    Marshall 6101, Vox AD30VT
    Pedals, pedals, pedals ...

Normally I hate that kind of thing but it's so cool! I must admit I'd never seen that model before.

Maybe it's just the pic, but that neck looks really wide.

I guess it's common dimensions. I'll measure it when I'm back home.
