  • Bass body.... Maple/Alder versus solid Alder

For a bass guitar with a single ceramic music man pickup and a wenge/ebony or wenge/wenge neck, which of these two options would sound best?

Would the bass benefit from the extra brightness coming from the maple? Or would just alder be preferable?
There's nothing quite as satisfying as a dancing banana...

from my personal experience, body wood doesn't DRASTICALLY change the tone, thought it surely does. I would suggest the Alder if you preffer a dark tone (which would probably work best with your ceramic pickup) but, adding the maple to the equation may put your tone over the top (you may like that, depends on you) but the glue between the wood may negate the wood (depends on how will it's glued and how many peieces are laminated)
I personally prefer solid body over ANY kind of laminate.
You can get a suprisingly good country guitar tone out of a Marshall Halfstack.
