  • Peavey wolfgang w/o stock pup's

I got offered a peavey wolfgang with out the stock pickups for 400 shipped. Would this be a good deal considering it doesn't come with the peavey pickups or should I look elseware for a stock wolfgang? This is a usa special btw.

Is it Korean or U.S. made? It seems like I've seen used Korean models for $400 before....with the pickups.

the guitar is a usa special. it has duncan pickups but i was really interested in the stock pickups. im trying to decide if a us special with duncans is with the 400 or if i should hold off and find a entirly stock one.

(im not sure which duncans are in the guitar right now)

It's either this or I just fork out $800+tax and buy it new.

It's black with the maple neck. I really wanted the stock pickups but I'm trying to decide if I should just pay 400 and then buy the custom EVH or something =).

Nope, Not worth it. $400 for a special is the going rate.

If you want the stock pups keep looking. There are tons of them out there.

BTW, I love the stock pups in my Wolfgang!!!

See, I'm just the opposite. The tolerate the stock Wolfgang pups, but I'd love to have some Duncan's in my Wolfgangs. They're(Wolf pups) just too loose for me. I like a nice tight and clear pup. The Wolfgang pups area a love 'em or leave thing for sure.

That price is about typical for a used American-made Special. Do you happen to know what Duncan models are in there? I ended up replacing the stock pickups in my Standard, I found them to be too trebly and too high in output. I would try it with the Duncans and see if you like it. If not, you can order the Wolfgang pickups from Peavey and sell the Duncans.
