  • Would you put an inlay on this guitar ?

    Hi,

I’m building a new guitar a private stock prs style guitar.

however I got a wormhole in the body and the stain didn’t apply evenly.

would you put an inlay over the wormhole or not ?

Nah, I like it. It is unique, and has a cool story.

I’d put two more pickups in to cover the weak patch.

Floating pickguard. Use the classic Les Paul Junior shape for inspiration.

Very rough digital sketch of what I mean:

Leave it. If anyone says anything, tell 'em it was relic'd by nature! Nice looking build,by the way.

Itsa has a good idea, but I would suggest making the guard out of another thin piece of beautiful wood. The top is too nice to put a plain black shape over.

Don't think of it as a problem - think of it as a feature.

I vote leave it. It makes it different.

Adding a neck humbucker would take care of it.

I absolutely would not keep it like that. Looks cheap and I think over time you would come to regret it.

Route a neck pickup. That guitar shape needs it anyway.

I join those who think a neck pickup is the way to go.

                              I like this idea a lot. But I'm a fan of pickguards in general . . .
