Will I achieve the same results just using a linear taper vol pot without it, Or would you suggest doing it on a linear taper pot as well?

From an electronic point of view, log or linear shouldn't make a difference. Log or linear merely affect the physical position of the volume knob in relation to actual output level. If you need a treble bleed for one, you should also the other. The Artie formerly known as ArtieToo.

This is something I need to experiment with. Since I play strictly at home, my vol and tone are always "dimed." I just reach over and adjust the amp for both. This will be 132 on my "to-do" list. The Artie formerly known as ArtieToo.

I did a strat with a JBJR in the bridge, the old DiMarzio YJM pickup in the middle & a lil Scremin Demon in the neck. It had a treble bleed & 1 meg tone for the neck but for the life of me I can't remember what the value of the other tone and the volume pot were.Last edited by solspirit; 11-28-2020, 05:25 PM.

I don't have one one my Gibson LP 500 Meg audio taper
I am afraid it would hinder the volume/distortion thing I have right now
With the volume turned back to 9
It's clean and present
With the volume on 10
It overdrives the front of the amp
I really like that
Like Artie said though
It's easy to remove
i may try it tomorrow

1 meg tone pots kind of suck because you have to turn them down to 2 to get solid darkening. 500k is the max you really need. up to around 200k is solid darkening, up to 500k is coloring, past that it's really just nonsense. What I do is use 250k no load pots for tone. Because 0-9 is all useful sweep and then 10 is max bright so you really get everything. If you want a broad sweep then just use a 300k no load tone.
