  • WIRING HELP !!

    Hello!

I'm already trying for 3 hours to get what i want...but no succes !

I have a fender strat. i want to put 2 P90 pickups in, a 3-way strat switch, 1 master volume and 2 tone controls. But.. i want to be able to keep individual tone control in the middle posistion.

I have tried maybe 50 different schemes but not of them worked! Can anyone please help me? Or draw/sketch the wiring.. i'm at the point of putting my soldering iron in the desk.

    Thanks!

Individual controls are before the switch
Master controls come after the switch

So wire the tones between the pickups and their switch positions (hint, you can tap the individual tones off the individual switch lugs for each pickup)
Wire the master volume between the switch common/ouput lug and the output jack

I am sorry this isn't working out. Can you post several clear pictures? And can you post the diagram you are using?

        First i tried this: https://www.fralinpickups.com/wp-con...ng-Diagram.jpg

But after another 49 tries i stopped.

Now the p90 pickups are connected to the tone pots and then goes to the switch. But i really need a scheme to make it easier for me. I just want: neck, neck+bridge, bridge.. and keeping both tone control individually also in de middle position so i have control on the overall tone.

If you wired it like that diagram, what exactly is not working? That diagram is just what I described and should do exactly what you want.

Well if i'm in the switch middle position the neck tone pot is also adjusting the bridge..

I wires it now exactly like this https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-fxdz...694254.jpg?c=2

But still in the middle position when rolling down the neck or bridge tone pot both pickups tone goes down.

The output in middle position is a combination of both pickups. Therefore adjusting either tone control will impact the sound that you hear. So nothing "wrong" is occuring here.

But do you know how i can adjust it so i have two independent tone controls ?

i dont think you can do what you are asking without isolated outputs

The tones are independent in only two of the three positions. Basically the two pickups are one input in the middle position and both tones control that input.

Ok i wired it differently now.. i think i can deal with this wiring scheme. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vita52vx0n...61537.jpg?dl=0

                          Now i have:

                          Neck: tone 1
                          Neck+bridge: tone 1
                          Bridge: tone 2

                          Is this wiring ok ?

Yep, that should work like you described above. It's a pretty clever scheme. Did you design that yourself?
