Death in terms of new big name professional bands.
Life in terms of stimulus checks and locked down unemployed hobbyists.
Surprised you haven't just decided to live in the woods by yourself writing a manifesto.

Digital technology has given people access to sounds and recording that were previously unavailable. That opens up possibilities for talent that big studios weren't interested in because they didn't find them commercially viable.
So, maybe no new big name acts, but I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing.

Another thing... the earth population has grown so a flatline guitar sales means that fewer people are playing, relative to before. A bump because of the pandemic doesn't mean much.
I think this means that guitar will never die, it has just become more niche.

What's the average number of guitars that a person owns today vs in the 70s or 80s (probably peak guitar specific music period).
Just 'cause we're all buying more guitars doesn't mean we can play them for ****! :PJoin me in the fight against muscular atrophy!

Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.
