I had an Epi Olympic that is not it. It is a MM clone just don't know who but that is definitely not a Gibson logo. Looks like there is a g, q, p, or y in the middle of the brand logo.

Not Hamer, not Carvin, not Gibson, not Epiphone...

Here's a 70's Matsumoku/Ibanez MM clone... with a diamond on headstock. Didn't someone say earlier that Steve Clark had an Ibanez Les Paul clone? Could be that both went Ibby back then....

That's what I am seeing LLL.

Look at the length between the nut and the 1 set of tuners... That's exactly the headstock.

          Pickguard matches very closely.

Hell, that looks more badass than any real MM I’ve seen.

...with staples, no less. You just gave me GAS, ya dick.

LLL I think that is it! Pete probably modded it and put in humbuckers. If you look at the OP video Clark molded his guitar with what looks like an SD in the bridge. So they were into modding their guitars.

Closer inspection Pete's guitar is not a bolt-on and the is a name at the top of the headstock

Well LLL has got the headstock diamond. I would guess that Matsu probably cranked out a few set neck MM copies as well as bolts.

This is my Olympic, doesn't look so much different to me. I also have an MIJ MM copy that is just about the same so...

I believe that is just the Ibanez logo of the day. There's a set neck Ibanez 2344 on Reverb with the logo, but the smaller headstock. The Matsumoku bolt-on has the larger diamond. There must have been some in between version that was set neck with the diamond headstock and logo. There's simply nothing closer than an Ibanez 2344.

Could be an England only model...
