  • Where do you put the heat shrink tubing?

I ordered a Les Paul toggle switch that comes with 3 metal braided wires coming from it and the seller also enclosed a piece of heat shrink tubing. Looking at the size of the tubing it does not look like the diameter would be big enough to go around all 3 metal braided wires plus it looks like he has already put a short piece of tubing on each individual wire next to the switch.

So what do I do with the tubing or do I do nothing with it?

I just found out it goes on the output jack lead.

Without seeing that actual parts in question, I'd think the only place you'd need heat shrink is near the switch itself to keep the braided ground from touching the blades of the toggle switch, and at the other end if there's a possibility of the braided shield touching and shorting out the tone caps that go between the volume and tone (though the latter is not likely if the wires are cut to the right size.)
