  • Removing a Floyd Rose trem

Hey guys, as soon as I get around to it, I'm going to thoroughly clean and set up my Wolfgang. I'm thinking it would be a good idea to lubricate the Floyd Rose trem. To remove it from the body, do I just remove the two bridge height screws, and then unscrew and remove the spring claw from the cavity? I know that there are a million different variations of the Floyd Rose bridge, but is this generally all there is to it? Thanks.

Yeah, once you remove all the strings it basically falls right out. Sometimes you need to pull the springs off the plate, but that's about it.

Don't turn any screws. You'll be thankfull you didn't when it comes time to put it all back togther and tune it.

... unless you lube the posts, too. When I set up my Floyds, I pull the unit totally apart, clean and then lube each part, and then reassemble.
Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!
