  • NGD: Silver Falcon

In the past few weeks I've downsized my collection from 30+ guitars and basses to 15. Then yesterday I traded two beat up Les Pauls for this... a brand new Gretsch Silver Falcon Center Block.

Brilliant guitar, right there. Semi hollows are some of my favorite guitars.

well done! I love the non-traditional color falcons. Basically anything but white. Ha.

Nice! Never owned a Gretsch, but they sure do look nice.

How you liking it? what would you compare it to?

I saw that new (overpriced) Rich Robinson falcon and I'm kind of in love.

It's kind of hard to compare it to something, I don't have as much semi/full hollowbody experience. I previously owned a Gretsch 5120 and Streamliner Jr. The body on this isn't as big or thick as the 5120, but its bigger than the Streamliner, and neither of those guitars had filtertrons. It's classic Gretsch, maybe more midrange, kind of a 335 with Tele twang? Build quality/ fit & finish are excellent, better better than most from the other G brand (and I've never had too many bad ones of those)
