I'll do a proper NGD post next week once I get the few things switched out that I'm waiting on (drop in Gotoh thumb wheel locking tuners that look stock from the front with accompanying push in conversion bushings, single ply truss rod cover, proper imprinted gold bonnet knobs, and strap lock buttons)

SWEET BABY JEEBUS that is pure secks!!!!!! Awesome score! I occasionally surf for Old Aria Pro II Le sPUals. If I didn't get my Gibson, a Wine Red Aria was gonna be my second choice when I was a kid.

Great guitars. Yngwie has one of those from the 80's or earlier and I believe in that color...

I don't know that I would have replaced all of that stuff, but at $1600 still a killer deal!!!!

You sure that neck is mahogany 3 piece? I'm thinking if it is a Norlin copy it would be maple....maple neck LP's rule!
Did I say Hog neck? I totally meant maple...maple neck all the way.

I just traded the 1977 Aria Pro II LC-750TB straight up for a 2018 Gibson Limited Edition Les Paul Junior (the one with the acoustic pre war logo on it). As incredible of a guitar that the Aria Pro is (and it really is), my big hands just need that 50’s neck to feel truly comfortable.

You found out about dialing in a pickup. That's the most important thing of all.

Just a quick note to mention that since originally making this post, I have found out that my guitar is an LC-750TB, not a 550.

Hard to go wrong with a Japanese rendition of the big names. Apart from being less expensive, they're very well made and work spending a bit more on upgrades, whether necessary or to taste. Some brands have gone up in price in recent years, but with others, like Aria and Fernandes, there's various models which are still relatively inexpensive.

Plain tops ftw. I agree about the gold, not something I'd go for either but on a Custom, it works.

All said and done it is 9lbs exactly, which I don't think is bad for an LPC.
