Got myself a housewarming gift with the new party pad (ie: place where two rambunctious, energizer-bunny, destructive, crazy miniature versions of myself reign like a pack of wolves in the high desert — toddlers for the layperson).

Couldn’t leave it be, per usual, so apart it came.

Says the Greco to the Charvel:

Pickguard is from WD Custom Pickguards and pickups are Blackouts AHB-1b and AS-1n. 3 way toggle in place of blade switch.

New gold hardware to replace the black, including locking tuners (combined a black and gold set), Gotoh GHL-2 nut & Gotoh GE1996T in place of the black Floyd Rose 1000.

That gotoh can flutter like no other. And as far as I am concerned, is superior to OFR in every way. I already a second for another axe.

I see what you did there... well played.

And that Marshall vol knob (if that's what it is) will make the tone more crunchy.

It is very rare for me to commend a righty guitar; me being a lefty and all... it's a lot to get over the fact that the typical righty is... backwards.

That is very cool. The black and gold together like that give it a very classy look. I dig it. Love the Marshall knob. Does it go to 11?

Why locking tuners on a double locking Floyd ?
Only thing i don't like is the current volume knob and absence of the tone knob.

^^ I suspect for quick string changes.

Dig it, can't go wrong with a HS, and the GE1996T speaks for itself. Did you install the Gotoh studs/bushings or keep the Floyd ones?

When I saw the first pic I thought oh no, the guitar already looks damn cool. But, it looks really classy now, nice one.

That is sexy as hell. I love what you did with it.

That is too funny. When my girlfriend vacuums the living room after she is done the two guitars in the living room are slightly facing each other. When I asked her why she said "they are friends they are going to want to talk to each other".

Precisely. Would make no sense to buy new, non-locking tuners.

I did not install the gotoh studs…..yet.
I’m gonna practice with my drill press a few times first.

^^ Yeah, the holes need to be longer/bigger diameter. The lockers are cool little feature.

Big fan of Gotoh GE-1996T, great clever industrial design and very well executed. For quick string changes on a Floyd guitar I find having the string ball end at the tuner end speeds up the process to some extent.

ID:	6154140 I don't nor ever have had issues with string changes however in the 80's sometimes i was so poor gigging that if a broke a string i would tie a knot in it and keep playing cuz i was so poor i couldn't afford a new pack. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
                          But them days is over.
And last time i checked changing strings isn't a timed event.

                            OMG drooool ^^

Which Friedman is that?? Modded JMP? Worth the dough??

I was thinking about getting the Wangs JMP (1987x?) and getting it modded (or leave it be if it sounds as good as I hear it does).
