  • Help needed please - SS strat with fenders new double pots

Help I'm stuck! I am so close to figuring this out. The split coil is got me hung up.

    Project: HSS strat

pickups: Fender 59-62 single coils. (vintage design)
    SD pearly gate hummer

pots:volume-fender duel 500k/250k pot --- this is the pot: https://www.fender.com/en-US/parts/c...990847000.html
    tone 1 - fender duel 500k/250k pot
    tone 2 (neck) fender vintage
    caps: .022 for hummer
    .047 for singles

    Actions:
    pos1 bridge
    pos2 bridge split to single
    pos3 middle
    pos4 middle and neck
    pos5 neck

I want to run the hummer with the 500k pots
I want to run the split with....? (I assume the 500k also but would like to know if that is a good plan)
I want to run the middle single with the 250k vol and 250k tone 1
I want to run the neck single with the 250k vol and 250k tone 2

I am trying to use a 5pos super switch

For your caps, I hope you meant .047uf for SINGLES and .022 for HUMMER

For that switching with 2 vol pots and 2 tone pots you will need a super switch.

If you could use just one vol pot (I'd rec. 250k since that Pearly is pretty bright), you could use this...

If you are going to use 2 different caps, you'd need to adjust the diagram for that with one tone for bridge and the other for neck (no tone pot for the middle).

I think with the dual volume pots you would have to run the volumes (and subsequently the tones tapped of those) before the switch to do it without a super switch.

          ^ That's true.

thanks for the typo catch on the caps! I have a double pot for the bridge 500k and middle 250k. With that clarified would I not be able to have tone on all pickups? That was the purpose of the double pots.

With only 1 volume pot I think I had it figured out. I was wanting to use the double volume to "better" match resistance 500/250 to pickup hum/single respectively. Maybe that is a bad idea with the pearly gates hummer?

I was planning on a superswitch if needed.
