    NGD!

Couldn't resist a blue one to go with my blue flame top Player Tele or the matching blue flame top Player Strat.

On sale today at GC at $520, 20% off while they last.

So far so good - it works and nothings broken.

The bridge seems a little high but I've slackened the truss rod off to the point where it's "resisting the anti-clockwise way. Not sure I want to risk turning it more for a day or six.

Tell her it reminds you of the color of her eyes. You're good.

If she has a problem with it, or has brown/green eyes, tell her it can be the color of your next chics eyes.

It is a very unusual color for an LP...I like it!

The figured top Epiphones and Gibsons always seem to look great in blue! Congrats!

If my wife is Kate Bosworth, I don't have the time or energy for guitar...

If she kills you at least you will go with a smile on your face. That is a beautiful axe. Burstbuckers?

Probuckers. Alnico 2. A bit mild, maybe. I may end up putting the 57s from my 2015 Gibson SG in it (most likely) or maybe some SNSs or something else from the SD stable. Thoughts anyone?

I played the Probuckers in a similar Epi and almost bought the guitar based on the pickups alone.

Took the control and switch plates off for a look-see this morning.

CTS pots, yes, good.. Cheap poly-whatever caps, yes, no big deal unless you're addicted to snake oil. Switch, well, not a genuine switchcraft.

Pickups are 2-wire and all the wiring is connected by push connectors. I guess if / when I put new pickups in, I can just pull the entire harness, put it in a drawer, and fit a new one with push-pulls for the coil splits, a proper Switchcraft switch, etc. Heck, I might even use some big old orange drops.

Now. Pickups. Classic sort of Thin Lizzy tone (think Jailbreak era). Thinking Whole Lotta Humbucker or my Gibson 57 Classics that I pulled from my SG. Suggestions please.

Oh. Got the neck relief at about 0.020. . Bit high, maybe, but it works. I'm still a little disappointed that the bridge is a bit high to stop fret buzz, but I can live with it. It's better than it came out of the box, anyway. Intonation is pretty much spot on, even at the nut. I might get my files out or fit an adjustable nut in time, but not yet. For $520 I'm not complaining really.

Came up with a cunning plan to hide that "it's just an Epiphone".

                            Think it'll work?

I have WLHs in two Les Pauls, they make a Les Paul sound like what you think a Les Paul should sound like. Here is a review I did on them.
