    Anyone own a Jem Jr?

I've always thought these looked cool with the monkey grip, lions claw and the inlays, but never played one. If I was ever to get one it would be the white. Would get a pearl pickguard, or some other color...

The guitarist I share a room with just bought one in blue. I haven't played it yet but I can tell you it is beautiful.

The white one is the only Jem I've seen that I kind of like the looks of. Not a fan of Ibanez necks or trems or the tree of life inlays though.

I tried one, felt like a 3/4 scale toy guitar. DNW
After playing Les Pauls the jem jr felt like a joke, heavy on the jr.

Even the 777 model or whatever is made in Indonesia now and not on par with the older made in Japan JEMs.

The current ones are meranti, which looks like mahogany but different species of wood. 25.5 scale as per usual.

They also have the TRS II type trem (called the DL Standard nowadays). Maybe not the best for longevity (keeps the price down), but yer Gotohs and other Floyds are drop-in replacements.

Probably a 'try before you buy' scenario. Seen people who liked them, others who didn't.

Not knowing much about Jems, what's 'Jr' about it?

It does look nice all in white.

In this instance, "Jr." = cheapo
