  • Guitar ID please - Tommy Allsup (Buddy Holly guitarist)

Anyone recognize what these 2 hollowbodies are? Thanks in advance.

I can almost make out the name on this blown up version, but I don't recognize the logo.

I don't recognize either, but I love that single cut. Couldn't find anything matching that headstock through Google. I'd really like to know as well. He had a signature hollowbosy Samick, but it looks different than what he's playing there.

I could probably find out in the next week or two, if I stop by the Norman & Vi Petty museum here. The problem is that I never go through town and I'm not going out of my way with these fuel prices. I might be able to find out if I called David or Ken, I havent heard from Richard Petty in a while and it's been a few years with a lot of bad **** for an old man to deal with so he might not even be with us any more.

They're closed right now, I'll call them tomorrow if I remember.

I called them and it's not there and nobody there is old enough to remember it.

These guys; at least on the first dark red-ish semi-hollow (MTA-700):

              Tradition Guitars

See the many Professional Artists that use Tradition Guitars

Cool, thanks for figuring that out. Seems like it's pretty rare, very few hits on Google.
