  • 5 way switch & 2 humbuckers

How do I work this out?

I want, first position bridge, second position bridge split, third position bridge & neck, fourth position neck split, fifth position full neck.

Middle position B&N both split? What about V/T?

You need a superswitch to make that work. A regular 5-way can’t be wired that way.

I think a Megaswitch model M can do that, or something really close.

I got one from Stewmac. Can’t remember which one it was though. I think it was the E. Looking at the diagrams/manual on the side for each one will tell which one you need.

The M or E Schaller can do what you want.
Depends if you want full double humbuckers in series in middle position (M).
If you want them both split in the middle position, both can do it.
The diagram would then indicate the difference being which split coil is being used in position 2.
In any case you would be "limited" to 1V/1T.

Look here, or just use Mincers link, it goes deeper.

Btw, I have a 10way switch laying around somewhere (double banked 5way). I've yet to figure out what to use it for. I just know I'll need 30ft of wire when I do!

Ok, what will give me the maximum of possibilities with two humbuckers tone tone & volume ....and 3 mini hums tone tone volume?

                The M or the E?

There's also the Megaswitch P, which copies the coil assignments of a PRS rotary
                  1. bridge humbucker
                  2. outer coils parallel
                  3. inner coils in series
                  4. inner coils parallel
                  5. neck humbucker
position 4 is especially Fendery and cool

I'm fairly certain that that's how the 5 way in my Blackjack is wired.
It's the one on the left.
