Always temped to try those out... and I love the looks of the Grote/Firefly semi-hollows... but so suspect on the build quality and the fact that semi-hollows are a pain to work on vs a solidbody.

That isn't an excuse for intellectual property rights infringement according to many companies, but I think lack of availability is more excusable than simply wanting a cheap guitar.
Some of us don't want every guitar we own to be a Les Paul or Strat.
