  • How come some electric banjos sound like banjos, and some don't?

This is probably a more niche topic, but how come some electric banjos sound like a mic'ed banjo and some just sound like I'm playing an electric guitar tuned like it was a banjo?

The pickup/preamp/electronics. The strings aren't what makes a banjo sound like a banjo, so it takes more than piezo saddles to get that sound.

A piezo on the drum head will sound like a banjo.

It's probably up to the manufacturer. There's not a massive market for electric banjos that I know of, but I could see reasons to make then both ways.
You will never understand How it feels to live your life With no meaning or control And with nowhere left to go You are amazed that they exist And they burn so bright
Whilst you can only wonder why
