    Hey man, when you buy a guitar with active pickups from the store brand new, should you change the batteries?? or shud you play it till they die down a bit???


    -Cobalt blue Charvel
    -Seymour duncan live wire heavy metal humbuckers
    -Gibson amp( model unknown its too old)
    -Behringer V-amp 2

    if they work, dont change them. if the sound starts to become "disfigured", so to speak, change them.

      how do i kno when the sound is disfigured, im unsure half the time, shud i just shove new batteries in and see if they sound better, and if not put the old ones back in?

        You'll know when the sound is stuffed, it'll sound really really crap!

        If you're really paranoid about it then a new battery wont cost you much anyway, just a bit of a waste if your current ones are fine.

            Make it easy on yourself, go buy a battery tester and toss it in with the rest of your guitar mantinance stuff.
