should a 30 watt class A 8 tube (4pre 4 power) generate enough heat to make the chasis hot. where the knobs are it isnt warm, its pretty hot, shy of burning flesh, but hot. ive been running it with 0 volume and using the gain channel with the gain on about 7, to keep volume down, i know this isnt great. but even if i had volume, shuld an amp thatsbeen played for about 2-4 hrs straight with gain under jsut a guitar-chord-amp situation be generating that much heat. ? kinda makes me worry im frying more than just tubes...

Class A amps normaly run hotter than your basic AB amp. But that does sound a
bit extereme. How old are the tubes? could be your bias is off and /or the plate
voltage is to high. Maybe you shoud get that amp to tech?
