preamp tube positions

  • preamp tube positions

    in a tube amp, when looking at it from the back, is V1 the furthest to the left, and V2 the next one over and so on?
    gear:

    '05 gibson les paul studio vintage mahogany (DiMarzio Super Distortion/ SD Jazz)
    '04 gibson SG standard (BurstBucker Pro's)
    mesa/boogie 2-channel dual rectifier (with EL34's)
    marshall 1960A 4x12
    and a few pedals

      V1 is normally the one closet to the input jack as it is the first gain stage.
