Does anyone know of any DIY metal zone mods?

I've changeed one of the clipping diodes for a LED in my MT-2. I like the results though I can't remember how it used to sound anyway, I think the pedal became louder and a little more gritty. I am also planning on changing out some caps for quality parts to make it more smooth, thick and less shrill. But first I need to find the damn parts! Ordinary shops just don't stock this kind of specialised parts. The blue led I also put in looks purdy!
I'm thinking about sending it to Robert Keeley to get the twilight mod done.
