    when did fender make these guitars. i played my music teachers fender lead 2 with a super distortion in the bridge and it sounded and felt great. it was the best fealing guitar ive ever played. why did fender discontinue this series? can somebody sell me some facts about these guitars?

    I had one for awhile, I sold it to a bud. They were Fenders reply to the new Kramer EVH guitars in the late 80's. They had 3 models, I, II, and III. They were discontinued because nobody really liked 'em, they looked cool and all, but they didnt have a huge customer response.

      I don't know - I remember seeing one in a music store when I was going in to buy my first guitar in '80

            They're collecters items, yes, but on the market, they dont hold what they should.

              Nice idea having the fast neck etc, but I'd also like to have a three pickup option. One set up like a Fat Strat would be a nice kind of gat.

                Yeah, only a small portion of the Leads were made in the US. JohnnyR, the Lead III is a three pickup guitar, so there ya go. JJ, I know what ya mean, I've got a 52 Gibson ES-125, and its only worth about 1,500.
