Multi effects?

What multi effects pedal do you guys recomend? I was thinkin the V-AMP 2...
Give me some ideas please i dont no what to do........................................

NOOOOOOOOOO my mind was set on the V-amp2 then i see this!!! How do they compare? Im just checking price on the Magicstomp, im expecting it to be considerably more expensive than the V-amp2, but it seems so sweet!

Edit: update: ok now put off the magicstomp due to what seems like editing can only be done on the computer Thread hijack over!!!

I have spent entire months of my life locked away in a room with effects processors... a few tips.

1) Don't buy anything with a plastic cover. It's metal housing er bust. Sooner or later, you will destroy a plastic effects unit, it's inevitable.

2) Beware of extremely small effects boxes with 100 different effects in them, they usually suck.

3) Try to get a unit that doesn't drop the signal for a second when you change presets.

4) Spend money, you usually get what you pay for in signal processor land, with rare exceptions.

5) Don't overlook the rack mounted/ foot pedal controlled department. There are a lot of quality rack mount effects units out at the moment (without amp modeling) that are extremely affordable, and another 100 bucks or so buys the remote footswitch.

6) Decide EXACTLY what effects you want/like/need before you even start looking. There are a zillion units out, with a multitude of features. There has to be one that hits the mark. Buy it, long as it doesn't violate rules 1-5.

Don't waste any money on a multieffects unit if your only amp is that 15-watt Crate monstrosity. It won't help your tone, it will just make everything a lot more confusing.

First get good at guitar, then get a better amp.

Not everyone is after tone and I think tone should come with experience. Whats the point of having an expensive amp and guitar with a great sound but not much versitality.

Multi fx I believe are a great way to find out more about sounds and tones, and help you get the most out of different effects.

Having said this I owned a Boss Gt-5 that was awesome, helped me learn alot about effects and different tones. It got stolen and will not by another one cos 1. I dont have the money 2. I only really used the wah, overdrive, volume pedal, chorus and phaser and will probably just get these effects.

I believe having that multi fx will make you a better guitarist....

Im considering the V-amp because im going off to uni in september and will need some way to practise with headphones and have access to a range of half decent tones. V-amp so far seems ideal. It may get some live action but its going to have 99.9% of its time for private practise

i would buy a better amp before buying more effects my friend. i feal that rack multi effects produce much better quality sounds but usually cost more. floor effects units usually are full of presets that i dont nead. like amp modeling. they are always half ass sounds that sound somewhat like the amp but more solidstate. they never have the feal. therefor i never use them. i would rather have a rack unit for delays and reverbs and then another for modulations. i like to keap it nice and simple.

Boss ME-50 is a good multi-effects unit. Unlike the Vamps and Pods, it's not an amp modeler but a true effects unit. And I think it sounds better when playing live also. And unlike some more expensive units, it's not so complicated to understand that you need a degree to program it. Instead you just tweak all the knobs in real-time and use it like a giant stompbox. If you find sounds you like you can save them as presets.

Pedals don't have 'feel', players do.
Check out Boss ME-50 and the Roland GT-6...*great* sounds, with enough weird stuff to keep you busy for awhile.

I meant plastic housing, plastic switches ar ok, lol.

And for the rest of the opinions here... Some peeps dig effects, some don't... Do what YOU want to do and ignore the rabble.

They are correct about having a good tone to start with. As they say where I live. "Yah can't polish a turd."

But ah, try tellin Steve Vai er Jimi Hendrix that they don't need effects

And fer the record I just got the VOX Tonelab... haven't owned it long enough to offer up a real opinion, but it's lookin' good so far.

what do u guys think about the X V-amp............?i have a open mind im going to look at pedals today but not buy any time soon.
