  • What cabinet for TriampMkII?

Sorry for many questions like this but i'm not strong in the cabinet topic...
I'm looking for a lot of warmth, in both: clean & distortion.. Any suggestions?

What kind of cab are you looking for... 1x12, 2x12, 4x12?

Here's what I use to get a killer tone with my Triamp (it's an unbelievably incredible setup):

"Madison" birch cabinet 2x12 w/ Weber Blue Dog and Weber Silver Bell (both 50w ceramic)

That combo is perfect for the amp because you get that Marshall crunch, you get Fender and Vox chime and hi-gain crushing Mesa distortion with tons of articulation. No frequencies are flubby or weak at all, the speaker combo can handle ANYTHING

It all depends what you're looking for. I would recommend those speakers to just about anyone, especially someone with something versatile like a Bogner, Diezel, H&K or ENGL. Baltic birch is a necessity. If you spend 2 grand on an amp, you should have no problem buying good wood and speakers to help amplify that sound IMHO.

Let's make few things clear: I need 4*12 or 2 2*12, at the price less than 800$...

Chris, where do you get such a thing? How much it costs?

The nice thing is that, it doesn't even come close to that

I got an empty Madison birch cabinet for around $180 and the speakers cost around $200.

However, if you want a great cabinet, why not use the official H&K cabinet? You can find it for less than $800 and you know it'll work perfect with the H&K amp. Does my combination rock? Absolutely. However, matching cabinets and amp heads are usually a great idea. I think my Webers are superior to the Vintage 30s (I've played a Mesa cab w/ vintage 30s and it didn't do the amp justice), but to each his own.

I wouldn't get the H&K cabinets. They're too expensive (around $1000) and there's no way they could be THAT good for the money. I'd suggest a Marshall cab, they're the industry standard for good reason. You can find them used for around $500, sometimes less. I've got my 1960A cab paired with my DSL and I love the tone.
                Gibson SG Standard (498T/498R)
                Schecter C-1 Elite (Custom/59)
Fender Deluxe Double Fat Strat (Carvin SD22/M22N)
                Yamaha FG-413S acoustic
                Marshall G15CDR
                Marshall JCM 2000 DSL100
                Marshall 1960A
                Boss ME-50
                ...and just a little talent.

Thames on this board is a dealer. I'm not sure what his policy is on shipping to other countries, but it's worth a try (trust me, it's worth it if it works out )
