Here is the add in the local trading post:

"Marshall Jubilee Series Model JCM 25/50 2558, ECond $850"

Exactly what would this guy be selling?

By the way for those interested the price is in Australian dollars.

    Marshall 2558

The model 2558 is the 2x12 combo version of the model 2550 head.

The 2558 is supposed to be a 2x12 50W combo of the Silver Jubile series.
It was a limited edition for the company's 25 years !

This combo has a 25/50 W switch and should have a 2 channel switching (clean / drive with common Eq section) if I well remember.

The covering is Silver grey instead of classic black.

This serie is near from the JCM 800 serie and has a good reputation !

Its second hand value is around 800 USD in good condition .

Basic info on the Silver Jubilee series:

Harmony Central reviews of the 2558:

I have a 2553 Silver Jubilee and my bandmate Chris has a 2555 - they're excellent amps! Becoming quite collectable too.

          Marshall Jubilee

I have a 2555 head (1988) that I absolutely love. I've owned a Soldano and my choice has always been the 2555; that should give you some idea of the tonal qualities of these amps. I may buy another Soldano sometime down the road as they're great amps, but I don't think I'll ever retire my 2555.

One of my pride and joy's is my 2550 fullsize fullstack with both
matching cabs. I'm pretty sure I have one of the very few mint
fullstacks with consecutive serialed cabs. I don't even let anyone
put their hand on it. I drove way out into the middle of the Mojave desert to a guy's house, who advertised this stack for
$1500. I stole it for $1400 and couldn't even believe when the guy wheeled it out of his closet and told me he bought it in 1987
and used it a couple times. He even had all the black covers,
the book, and bumpersticker!!!!!! I've retubed it with 2
Tesla E-34L's and 3 EI Gold Elite preamp tubes. I'm not kidding,
the tone will blow away any highgain Marshall you've ever heard.
            The 50 watters like the 2550, 2553 smallbox, and 2558 2-12
have the most sweet singing sustain ever, because the
power tube gain masks the diode clipping circuit to the point where you can't hear any buzziness. I love the 100 watter,
since it was my first good amp back in 87, when I bought it new,
then sold it. However, that head has to be "stupid loud" before
it starts cookin like the 50 watters. Love'em all.
Even Jim Marshall considers the Jubilees to be his favorite highgain Marshall. Of course, he has a true love for the old P to P
            Plexi's as well.
